It appears you have figured out how to use your seagate central as storage and your mac mini as the server. I may still use it as a place to store my movies and then run the Plex server on my pc. You may find in the forums others are having issues as well. I had intended just to use the Seagate Personal Cloud as a NAS serving files my Mac running Plex server but tried the native Plex app as an experiment & was so pleased with the result that I changed my plan. I was a little disappointed as this is what I purchased the Seagate for is Plex.
Here’s my situation: I have a MacBook Pro with two external drives one for backups and one for a large movie collection I’ve amassed. The Seagate Personal Cloud is a neat solution for a self contained Plex server.
